Albert Wilbur Maxwell, age 82, of Glenville, West Virginia, departed this life at 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2013 in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia, following a brief illness.

Born January 12, 1931 in Roane County, West Virginia, son of the late Albert Woofter and Eva Spence Maxwell.

Albert was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #132. He was also a heavy equipment mechanic , his mechanics took him from New Road at Morgantown Hospital to Interstate 79 and the Burnsville Dam. In his free time he loved helping his son work on old cars.

On March 11, 1956 he was united in marriage to Betty Jo Duelley Maxwell, who preceded him in death on January 5, 2011.

He is survived by 1 son, Danny Maxwell and wife Teresa of Glenville, WV; 2 grandsons, Jeffery Maxwell and wife Shawna of Letter Gap, WV; and Erik Maxwell of Glenville, WV; 1 great granddaughter, Alexis Maxwell of Letter Gap, WV; 2 sisters, Louella Stalnaker and Mary Ann "Peg" Radabaugh both of Glenville, WV; and 2 brothers, Willis "Jack" Maxwell of Glenville, WV; and Fred Leon Maxwell of Mentor, Ohio.

Along with his wife and parents, Albert was preceded in death by 1 great grandson, Tyler Maxwell, and 1 sister, Janis Martin.

Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV., 26351 at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2013 with Rev. Kenny Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in the Job's Temple Cemetery with Full Military Honors, Route 5 West, Glenville, West Virginia. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Mortuary.
