Mildred I. Davis, 85 - Spencer

Mildred I. Davis, 85, of Spencer, died at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 2, 2013, in the Miletree Center, Spencer, after an extended illness. She was born March 16, 1928, at Richwood, Nicholas County, a daughter of the late Lemon Deel and the late Lula Williams Deel Boone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Davis on April 20, 1964; a daughter and son-in-law, Terry and David Collins. Mrs. Davis was a former employee of the Spencer State Hospital and Norris Industries, Inc. both of Spencer. She was a member of the First Advent Christian Church of Spencer and had attended the First Baptist Church of Spencer. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Harry Huff of Sistersville; two grandsons and three great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 5, in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Jack Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery, Clover.
