WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - McDowell Murder, Parkersburg Man Threatens To Kill Coach

MCDOWELL MURDER - A McDowell County man is dead and police say it is a murder case.

McDowell County Sheriff Martin West released information about the shooting death of Harry Arnold Edwards, 63, of Mohawk.

The news release said Edwards died of a single gunshot wound to the head. Deputies found his body in the Mohawk area Thursday.

No other details available.

COACH THREATENED - Parkersburg police officers arrested Steven Wayne Britton, 41, charging him with misdemeanor assault of a school employee.

A criminal complaint alleges that Britton attended a football practice at Hamilton Middle, approaching coach Robert Davis, starting a confrontation, screaming at Davis and putting his finger in his face.

The complaint says during the altercation, Britton talked about shooting David, stating ""I put three bullets in the last man to cross me.""

Police said the confrontation was apparently over the lack of playing time Britton''s child was getting on the football team.
