STATE TROOPER'S SON DIES IN ROANE CRASH - Arnoldsburg Man's Funeral Today

A Calhoun man, the son of a WV state trooper, has died after he crashed his car on US 119 near Gandeeville.

Authorities say Steven Mark "Stevie" Mullen II, 21, of Arnoldsburg, was life-flighted to CAMC, but did not survive.

Police say Mullen was heading north when he went off the road, hit a rock and rolled several times and was ejected.

The accident happened at 9:20 p.m. Thursday.

Mullen was the son of State Police Cpl. Steven Mullen of Reedy, Roane County, and Mary Beth and Samuel McCumbers of Arnoldsburg, Calhoun County.

He was an employee of Cunningham Energy, Charleston and a former corrections officer. He was a member of the Spencer Roane Volunteer Fire Department and a 2010 graduate of Roane County High School.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer. Burial, with graveside ceremonies accorded by the Spencer-Roane Volunteer Fire Department Honor Guard and other area emergency agencies, will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer.

Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
