| Spencer Ray Cottrell, 67, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Eldercare in Ripley, West Virginia.
He was born October 25, 1945 in Roane County, a son of the late Roscoe Thurman and Nellie Marie Finchman Cottrell. He was a general laborer and did odd jobs.
He is survived by a daughter, Charlotte Wright of Orma, West Virginia; four sisters, Frances Anderson and Mary Lou Cottrell, both of Spencer, Rosalee Jean Miller of Grantsville, West Virginia, and Helen Moss of Mt. Alto, West Virginia; four brothers, Cauldie Cottrell of Elyria, Ohio, Arlie Cottrell of Harmony, West Virginia, Leonard Cottrell of Sandyville, West Virginia, and Holly Cottrell of Spencer; three grandchildren, William Lee Collins, Eric Cadoc Collins, and Madison Harper; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings, Nikie Cottrell, Louise Toth Cottrell, and Hancel, Bruce, Pat, and Gayful Cottrell.
There will be a visitation from 11:00 am to noon on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer. There will be no funeral service. After the visitation, per Mr. Cottrell's request, he will be cremated and buried at a later date.
