Brogan Richards and Aaliyah Falls brought their second year of playing experience to the court and contributed to the team's success during the game. In the second set Calhoun fell short to Gilmer with a 25-15 loss. In the third set, Calhoun buckled down and knew this was the last chance for a win, but fell short after some bad serves of 15-8.

To finish off the first week of volleyball, Calhoun had its first home opener against local Spencer Middle School on September 12, 2013.
