Virgil Jarvis, 82, of Orma

Virgil Jarvis, 82, of Orma, passed away September 18, 2013 at Minnie Hamilton Health Center in Grantsville. Born in Calhoun County at Stinson, he was a son of the late Tolly and Mary Hicks Jarvis. He was a machinist and worked for Cornwell Tool Company in Ohio for 37 years and Norris Industries of Spencer for 12 years. He was a former resident of Reedy for 20 years and attended the Spencer Tabernacle. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Surviving are his wife Arlena Deweese Jarvis and his daughters, Tacy Johnson of Spencer, Patricia Deweese of Minnora, Sharon Postalwait of Millstone. Vonda Laughlin of Arnoldsburg, Tina Jones of Nicut and a son Jeff Jarvis of Spencer. Two brothers, Eddie Jarvis of Illinois and Fred Jarvis of Mt. Zion. Three sisters, Geneva Mckee of Illinois, Dorma Ewing of Minnora and Evelyn Etling of Barborton, Ohio. Twelve grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Jarvis and a sister Marie Vanhorn. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 2:00pm, at the Stump Funeral Home in Arnoldsburg with Rev. Gary Bowen officiating. Interment will be in the Minnora Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the services.
