A Grantsville man was slightly injured Saturday evening when his truck rolled over on Town Hill, just north of Grantsville on State Route 16.

Calhoun EMS and the Grantsville VFD responded to the 7:06 p.m. call to find the vehicle unoccupied, described as a "near total loss.

Responders later identified Tommy Newell of Grantsville as the driver of the vehicle, and a small child, who had been in the vehicle, was reportedly taken to Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center by Calhoun EMS.

The accident was under investigation by the State Police last night.

Police and emergency personnel responded to Big Sandy Road in Roane County yesterday morning about 8:30 p.m. to a scene where a man had been shot in or along the road, with a high powered rifle reportedly nearby. No other details available.
