Gordon D. McKee, 87 - Millstone

Gordon D. McKee, age 87, of Millstone, son of George and Nora Ball McKee departed this life September 5, 2013 at Roane General Hospital in Spencer WV after an extended illness.

Gordon graduated from Calhoun County High School with the class of 1944. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served his country in World War II. He was a Christian and a member of Albert's Chapel Methodist Church in Sandridge WV where he was a faithful and dedicated Sunday school teacher for 50 years.

Gordon retired from Consolidated Natural Gas Corporation in 1981 with 36 years of service. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening and in later years working jigsaw puzzles.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Rev. Glendon McKee, Arco E. McKee and sisters Arleta McKee Sturm and Flo Mckee Hall.

He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 66 years, Mary Ella Moore McKee, his high school sweetheart and best friend whom he married on January 12, 1947.

His three daughters, Myra Lynn and husband Joseph Painter of Gandeeville, WV, Debra Jo and husband Rodney Young of Elkview WV and Karen Jane and husband Gary White of Gainesville VA, devoting his life and love to all three.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Mary Beth (Painter) and her husband Jeff Tanner, Matthew Gordon Painter and wife Michelle, Rebecca Ann (Young) and husband Art Kelly, Brian Stephen Young and wife Kimberly, Ryan K. Foroughi and wife Angela, Cyrus K Foroughi and Sophia N. Foroughi. Ten great grandchildren, Caleb, Cole, Ella and Lucy Kelly, J.D. and Jebediah Painter, Zane and Brock Tanner, Rylee and Brody Young. He is also survived by his beloved sister, Lenelle McKee Stalnaker and sister-in-law Eileen McKee and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Stump Funeral Home in Arnoldsburg, Monday, September 9, 2013, 11:00am with Rev. Rick Swearengin and Rev. David Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in the Sand Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
