| Kenneth H. Brannon, age 64 of Cedar Creek Road, Cedarville, West Virginia, departed this life on Tuesday evening, September 3, 2013, at his residence following an extended illness. Born February 13, 1949 in Cedarville, son of the late Harry and Irene Lynch Brannon. Kenny was a drilling supervisor in the oil and gas industry. He retired from Ashland Exploration with 12 years of service. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, enjoyed hunting, farming, and was a Baptist by faith. On March 17, 1973, he was united in marriage to Sharon Faye Phares, who survives at their Cedar Creek home. Also surviving is 1 daughter Marsha Tompkins and husband Timothy of Glenville, West Virginia; 3 grandchildren, MacKenzee Alice Huff, Andrew Wade Tompkins, and Audrey Nicole Tompkins all of Glenville, WV; 3 sisters and 2 brothers Dora Jean Bumgarner and husband Robert of Marietta, Ohio, Delores Williams and husband Roger of South Point, Ohio, Mary Greenlief and husband Larry of Weston, West Virginia, John Brannon and wife Linda of Glenville, and Marvin Joe Brannon and wife Izetta of Cedarville. In addition Kenny is survived by 1 uncle Robert Lynch and wife Sara of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and several nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces. Along with his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by 1 sister-in-law, Donna Talkington Brannon. Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, West Virginia, 26351, on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Kenny Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedarville Cemetery, Cedarville, WV. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Ellyson Mortuary Inc. is assisting the family of Kenneth H. Brannon with arrangements.
