Lonnie Oliver Talbert, 66 - Ripley

Lonnie Oliver Talbert, 66, of Ripley, West Virginia, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

He was born October 8, 1946 in Ravenswood, West Virginia, a son of the late Oliver A. and Kathleen Ramsey Talbert. He was formerly employed at Burke-Parsons-Bowlby Corporation in Billings, West Virginia, was a Christian by faith, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his sons, Michael Talbert of Port Charlotte, Florida and Anthony (Valerie) Talbert of Fort Worth, Texas; two daughters, Amanda Talbert of Dandridge, Tennessee and Valerie (Alex) Northcraft of Sistersville, West Virginia; a special woman, his fiancé, Nola Carpenter of Spencer; his sisters, Norma (Tom) Wolfe of Brecksville, Ohio, Judy Talbert and Bonnie Nester, both of Spencer, West Virginia, Diana (Orland) Staats of Portland, Ohio, and Debbie (John) Miller of Ripley; his brothers, Fredrick (Trina) Talbert of Portland, Ohio and Jeff (Vicki) Talbert of Spencer; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, September 2, 2013 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer after which per Lonnie's request, he will be cremated. Visiting will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday.
