HARRISVILLE APPROVED $960,000 EIGHT-MILE WATER EXTENSION

The Town of Harrisville, Ritchie County, will be expanding water service to an under-served area. USDA has approved a waste and water disposal loan of $538,000 and a grant of $432,000 for the $960,000 project. The Rural Development funds will be used to extend public water service to 34 additional households that currently rely on private wells and cisterns as their only source of water. These water sources are known to produce water of poor quality and often run dry in the summer months. Construction will include approximately eight miles of new waterline.
