Mary Lou Richards, 79 - Big Bend

Mary Lou Richards, 79, of Big Bend, WV passed away July 31, 2013 at Minnie Hamilton Health System in Grantsville.

She was born August 18, 1933 in Pike County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Willie Gardner and Bertha (Varney) Hensley.

She was a member of AARP and loved to go to sings, the beach and she loved her flower gardens and yard sales. She was retired from Rubber Crafters. Mary was known for her homemade candy and her cornbread.

She is survived by one daughter, Pamela K. Davis of Big Bend, two sons, William A 'Billy' Holbert of Big Springs, WV and Theodore 'Teddy' Holbert of Big Bend; four grandchildren, Shannon Davis, Melissa Jones, Richard Davis and Bradley Holbert; five great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Davis, Logan and Megan Jones, Kolten and Braylee Holbert; three step-grandchildren, Shawn and Josie Whipkey and Derek Villers; one sister, Barbara S. Greer of Jacksonville, FL; and two brothers, Charles E. Hensley of Cleveland OH and Joe C. Hensley of Springfield TN. She is also survived by her 5 year old Jack Russell, Millie Mae.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael G. Holbert; her first husband, Owen Theodore Holbert and her second husband, Robert J. Richards as well as one brother Billy Gene Hensley.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 4, 2013, 2:00 pm, at the Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville with Rev. Carroll McCauley and Rev. Rick Metheney officiating. Burial will follow in the Hunt Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00-2:00 pm prior to the services.
