Kesslie Benton Minney, 80 - Sand Fork

Kesslie Benton Minney age 80 of Sand Fork, West Virginia, departed this life at 12:57 p.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness.

Born January 20, 1933 in Gilmer County, West Virginia, son of the late Sylvester and Mollie Reed Minney.

Kesslie was a retired maintenance worker for the Gilmer County Board of Education with 22 years service. He was an Army Veteran in the Korean Conflict and a member of the Glenville Christian Chapel. Kesslie was loved by all who knew him, he enjoyed helping family and friends and he especially loved being a grandpa.

He is survived by his very loving wife of 56 years Hallie Parsons Minney, they were united in marriage on November 3, 1956; 6 children, Darlene Meadows and husband Virgil of Normantown, West Virginia, Ellen Minney of Sand Fork, Kesslie "Buddy" Minney of Cedarville, West Virginia, David Minney of Sand Fork, Debra L. Huffman and husband Denzil of Glenville, West Virginia, and Sylvester Minney of Fort Gay, West Virginia. Also surviving are 1 brother, Sylvester Minney and wife Joy of Manassas, Virginia; 1 sister, Patty Pryor of Fredericksburg, Virginia; 20 grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.

Along with his parents Kesslie was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Clark, Leonard, Frank, and Edmund Minney; and 2 sisters, Ruby Cox and Irene Payne.

Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV., 26351 at 2:00 p.m. Sunday August 4, 2013 with Pastor Jim Huff and Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Collins Community Cemetery, Stumptown, West Virginia, with Full Military Honors. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Saturday August 3, 2013 at the Mortuary.
