Margaret Slingerland, 67 - Reedy

Margaret Slingerland, 67, of Reedy, West Virginia died July 29, 2013 at the Ohio State University Hospital after an extended illness.

She was born November 14, 1945 in Patterson, New Jersey a daughter of the late George and Mary McCartney Frey. She was co-owner and operator of the Grouse Run Farm & Feed Supply in Reedy for about ten years and worked for Dr. Joe Cain for over 15 years. She enjoyed swimming and boating and Sutton Lake.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Jim Slingerland; one son, David Slingerland of Reedy; one daughter, Susan Lyons also of Reedy; and four grandchildren, Kayla and Ryan Slingerland, and Dakota and Chase Lyons.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Delores Corter; and a brother, Jack Frey.

Per her request, the body was cremated. TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, West Virginia is in charge of arrangements for the Slingerland family. There will be no service or visitation. Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to the Roane County Animal Shelter, 2550 Parkersburg Road, Spencer WV 25276.
