GRANTSVILLE GETS GRANT-LOAN FOR SEWAGE IMPROVEMENTS

(07/31/2013)
The Town of Grantsville will be making some improvements to their sewage sanitation system.

State Director Bobby Lewis announced that USDA Rural Development approved a Water and Waste Disposal Loan of $240,000 and Grant of $160,000 for the town.

The Rural Development funds will be used to make much needed improvements to the Town's existing wastewater collection and treatment facility.

The town is currently under order by the WV Department of Environmental Protection to remedy system inflow and infiltration issues. Repairs are required to ensure that the system is brought back into compliance, Lewis said.

"This project will benefit the approximately 300 homes and businesses connected to the wastewater system," Lewis concluded.
