David C. "PeeWee" Reed, 83 - Spencer

David C. "PeeWee" Reed, 83, of Spencer WV, died Saturday, July 27, 2013, in the CAMC-Memorial Hospital, Charleston.

He was born August 20, 1929 at Harmony, a son of the late Willis and Stella Eakins Reed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Cyrus Reed and Orville "Dick" Reed; two sisters, Mary Reed Duncan and Myrtle Reed.

Mr. Reed is a retired 36 year employee of Boggs Natural Gas, Spencer. He is a USMC veteran. Also, he loved hunting and most of all spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mary Lou Reed; son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Ellen Reed of Spencer; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Eddie Golden of Reedy; grandchildren, Sarah and her husband Travis Helbig of Reedy, Zach Reed of Catonsville, MD, and Jared Reed of Spencer; great grandchildren, Avery Quinn Helbig and Archer Reed Helbig; sister, May Nichols of Hartville, OH.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 30 in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Larry Jones and the Rev. Shelly Mace officiating. Burial will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
