(07/27/2013)
Roane and Mason counties will be getting some federal assistance following severe flooding, according to Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin, who toured the flood areas.

The assistance will help with recovery and repair efforts following the mid-June storms that resulted in flooding, landslides and road damage.

The assistance provides funds for the replacement of public facilities.

Assistance has not approved the for Doddridge, Gilmer, Harrison, and Lewis counties.

The request for individual assistance for families damaged in Roane County is still being reviewed.
