FEDS CHARGE SPENCER WOMAN FOR STEALING $800,000 FROM ROY G. HILDRETH ENTERPRISES

(07/27/2013)
The U. S. District Court for Southern WV has filed federal charges against a Spencer woman for allegedly stealing $800,000 from Roy G. Hildreth and affiliate Kimco.

The case against Rosalie Seabolt, 59, has caused wide speculation in Roane County for several months, particularly on social media.

Seabolt has been a longtime business employee of the company.

According to authorities, the woman devised a scheme writing unauthorized checks to herself, which she deposited and cashed at a credit union where she had an account.

The charges indicate when monthly bank statements arrived at her business office, she allegedly altered the statements.

The extortion, according to officials, occurred between 2000 and 2012.

Seabolt has been charged with what officials call an information, in lieu of an indictment.

Officials said Seabolt is cooperating with investigators and is expected to make a plea on August 21 in Charleston.

The charges carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
