CALHOUN MAN FOUND DEAD PRIOR TO SCHEDULED COURT APPEARANCE

Calhoun authorities reported a man scheduled to appear in circuit court in Grantsville Thursday, was found dead inside his truck off Vaughan Road about midnight Wednesday.

Charles Ray Metz, 35 of Grantsville, was set for a bond revocation hearing before Judge David W. Nibert.

Metz had been charged a few days ago with wanton endangerment involving a firearm and child neglect creating risk of injury.

State Police, the Calhoun County Coroner, and Minnie Hamilton ambulance responded to the scene following a 911 call indicating Metz had committed suicide.

An investigation is being conducted by the State Police, Grantsville Detachment.

His body has been sent to the WV Medical Examiners office.

Funeral arrangements are being completed at the Stump Funeral Home.
