57-YEAR-OLD ROANE MAN IDENTIFIED AS CRASH VICTIM

State Police have identified the man discovered in a partly submerged truck, discovered in a Jackson County creek on Tuesday.

The driver is 57-year-old Carey Emery of Reedy, troopers say he had been in the creek three to five days.

Trooper J. P. Murphy said Emery lived alone in the Reedy community and didn't have regular contact with anybody, so he hadn't been missed.

Police said his truck went airborne over a 50-to-60-foot embankment.

"The truck went airborne another 130 feet as it was dropping the 50 to 60 feet," said Murphy.
