HUSK MURDER TRIAL COMMENCES TODAY IN GRANTSVILLE

(07/16/2013)
The murder case against Thomas Lee Husk of Calhoun County will go to trial today before Judge David W. Nibert in Grantsville, with jury selection starting at 10 a.m.

Husk is accused of shooting to death John Dale Cyrus of Chloe in 2011.

Husk is now being charged with murder, with the jury having options to decide the degree of murder he committed if he is found guilty and is to be sentenced.

The shooting happened at the end of a remote hollow, from what had been reported as a bitter dispute between the two men over family issues.

The case was declared a mistrial by Judge David W. Nibert in April because of a failure to seat a jury.

Nibert dismissed a 2nd degree murder charge against Husk last year, based on errors apparently made during a grand jury presentment in March, 2011.
