Harry L. Sommerville, 71 - Reedy

Harry L. Sommerville, 71, of Reedy WV, died Sunday, July 7, 2013 at his home.

He was born January 29, 1942, at Reedy a son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Hattie Pearl O'Brien Sommerville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Harry was a retired employee of Roane General Hospital, Spencer and a farmer. He enjoyed hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Polin Sommerville, whom he married October 25, 1969; six children, Michelle and husband, Bobby Taylor of Reedy, Bobby and wife, Shelva Sommerville of Spencer, Brenda Lynn and husband, James Nichols of Marion, VA, Michael Loyd Sommerville and girlfriend, Kimberly Rankin of Ravenswood, Jesse James and Barbara Sommerville of Spencer, Danielle Nichol Brown and boyfriend, Adam Chambers also of Spencer; 11 grandchildren, Natasha Dawn Taylor, Joshua Allen Falls, Scotty Dwane Boggs and his wife Nicki, Stacy Ann Sommerville, Anthony Nichols, Stephanie Renee Nichols, Michael Sommerville Jr.,Samantha Sommerville, Brady Sommerville, Adam Ryan Chambers and Logan Daniel Chambers; six great grandchildren; four step grandchildren, Kayla Rankin, Roger "Sassy" Akins, Mark Akins and Marissa Taylor; one step great grandchild; two sisters, Linda Smith of Nitro and Jeanie Sargent of Parkersburg.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Sommerville Family Cemetery, Reedy, with Brother Bill Walton officiating. There will be no visitation.

John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, is in charge of arrangements.
