Kenton 'Kenny' W. Bell, 79 - Glenville

Kenton 'Kenny' W. Bell, 79, of Glenville WV passed away July 5, 2013 of a sudden illness at his home.

He was born September 22, 1933 in Glenville to the late Jesse E. Bell, Jr. and Edith Berry Bell.

Kenny worked 32 years for the American Tote Company as supervisor and retired in 1994 to his home on Kanawha Drive. He was a graduate of Tanner High School and a Baptist by faith. A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the US Navy aboard the USS Mansfield.

He was an avid reader, a master gardener and a devoted sportsman and outdoorsman. He was a loyal fan of the Glenville State College Women's Basketball team and loved his family dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Kathryn Mahaney Bell; one sister, Eleanor Bell Nicholas of Glenville; and a brother-in-law, James H. (Carolyn) Mahaney of Milford Ohio; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins and his beloved rat terrier companion, Roscoe.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Lou Bell.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 2:00 pm, at the Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville with Rev. Dr. William Thomas officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 pm until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Stalnaker Cemetery near Glenville.
