Martha Ann Holland - Ripley

Martha Ann Holland, 74, of Ripley, West Virginia died Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the Jackson General Hospital in Ripley after a long illness.

She was born November 11, 1938 in Clio, West Virginia a daughter of the late Hollie and Bertha Moore Abbott. She was a Walton High School graduate and was a homemaker. She formerly worked at her family's Abbott's Grocery and enjoyed gardening and quilting. She was a member of Hurricane Baptist Church in Clio.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Carl Gordon Holland; one daughter, Joyce Barnett of Ripley; one son, Michael Holland of Ripley; two sisters, Ina Jean Smith of Newton, West Virginia and Loretta Boyer of Warren, Ohio; two brothers, Kenneth Abbott of Tariff, West Virginia and Rodney Abbott of Charleston, West Virginia; and two grandsons, Gregory Holland and Nathan Holland.

Service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, West Virginia with Rev. Herman Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Clover Cemetery near Spencer. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
