Firefighters Tom Crouser and OJ Little of the Elizabeth/Wirt Quick action by the Elizabeth/Wirt Volunteer Fire Department quickly doused a fire in Elizabeth Monday morning, after a UPS driver spotted smoke coming from a Washington Street dwelling. No one was home when the fire erupted.

Wirt County EMS Paramedic Duane Miller administers oxygen Firemen indicated the cause of the fire was likely electrical, flames were confined to one room. The Elizabeth-Wirt VFD responded to gas compressor or well fire near Burning Springs Sunday morning, the Grantsville VFD was called for assistance, but returned to station.
