WV KNIFE AND GUN CLUB - Grandmother Accidently Kills Grandson Shooting At Alledged Intruders, Jane Lewis Man Charged Stabbing Son

TRAGIC HARRISON CO. SHOOTING - Harrison County Sheriff Sheriff Albert Marano said William Owens, 11, of Jarvisville, was lying in bed when he received a single gunshot wound to his chest Sunday night, killing him.

Prior to the shooting, Owens' grandmother, Tina Owens, 57, of Jarvisville and Owens' father heard what they thought to be intruders tampering with their property.

Tina Owens went outside to investigate, taking along a .40 caliber pistol and fired multiple shots to scare away the intruders.

Sheriff Marano says one of the shots went astray, traveling through a house wall and hitting William Owens in the chest, killing him.

The Tina Owens' home and William Owens' homes are about 200 ft. apart, said Marano.

The woman hasn't been charged, although the investigation is ongoing.

GUN VICTIM BROTHERS LAID TO REST - Two children in a tragic shooting were remembered Sunday night in Jackson County, Ohio.

The shootings took place last Wednesday morning. Police think Austin Wiseman, 12, accidentally shot and killed his younger brother Blake Campbell, 9, then turned the gun on himself.

JANE LEW MAN CHARGED IN STABBING - State Police have arrested Terry Michael Garton, 52, of Jane Lew, and charged him with domestic battery, brandishing, and malicious assault in connection with the stabbing of his son.

The victim said that Garton had cut him with a knife after the two had an argument, according to the criminal complaint.

Witnesses said that Garton was intoxicated at the time and fled the scene.

Garton is in Central Regional Jail on $10,000 bail.
