PATRIOTISM ADORNS CALHOUN COURTHOUSE - Flag Project Continues

(07/02/2014)

A Grantsville Concern Citizens project to erect flags and
patriotic symbols around the Calhoun courthouse
was completed for the Fourth of July in 2013, and is in place this year.

In less than a week after publicly announcing a plan for more patriotism in Calhoun County, funds were quickly raised to order enough flags and buntings around of the building.

This patriotic display was made possible through organizations and private donors, including the Lions' Club, Calhoun County Historical Society, Women's Auxiliary of the VFW, CCCOA, Minnie Hamilton Health System, the VFW, and Deb Goff. Individual flag donations were in memory of Bernard Coon and Eugene Shaffer, and in honor of Ernie Hartshorn.
