A rare weather event swept across Calhoun and the state in 2012 causing damages, downed trees, water, power and phone disruption for several days.

Narrow swathes of wind shears were clocked at 80-90 mph.

The storm caused severe damage in several states.

The Calhoun community rallied to the disaster, responders and neighbors rallying in the recovery.
