RITCHIE MOTHER AND DAUGHTER DIE IN CRASH - Water Truck Runs Stop Sign

A Ritchie County mother and daughter died in a wreck near Ellenboro Saturday morning after crashing with a water truck.

Cheryl Horner and her 14-year-old daughter were pronounced dead at the scene. They are residents of Pennsboro.

The crash happened near Simonton Windows.

Ritchie deputies say the water truck, driven by Caitlin Hines of Parkersburg, ran through a stop sign hitting Horner's truck. Hines was taken to a Parkersburg hospital.

The water tanker truck was owned by Jay Bee Oil and Gas Incorporated of Union, NJ.

Police say a 2013 Kenworth tanker truck, traveling westbound on Route 50, and carrying crude oil was also struck by the water tanker truck. Its owned by West Virginia Oil Gathering LLC of Frazeysburg, Ohio.

The crash is under investigation.
