Judy Kathleen Park, 98 - Big Bend

Judy Kathleen Park, 98, passed away peacefully in her home in Big Bend, West Virginia on Wednesday, June 12, 2013.

One of 11 children, she was born to Walter and Luella Carpenter Carper on September 9, 1914 in Kester, West Virginia.

Judy and her family moved to Akron, Ohio in 1949 and lived there for many years. She then retired and moved back to Sand Ridge, West Virginia in 1977. She loved her kids and grandkids and also loved wildlife, especially birds.

Judy is lovingly survived by her daughters, Barbara Johnson of Sand Ridge, Sue Richards of Big Bend, and Darlene Hayes of Ravenna, Ohio; a son, Roy Roberts of Kingman, Arizona; 18 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Homer J. Roberts of Sand Ridge; her second husband, Charles Park of Elizabeth, West Virginia; and two sons, Bobbie Roberts of Akron, Ohio and James Roberts of Kingman. Judy, who was the youngest of 11 children, was also preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.

Her family wishes to thank all of the home health care workers and the nurses at Minnie Hamilton Hospital who took great care today.

Service will be at 1:00pm on Monday, June 17, 2013 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, West Virginia. Burial will follow in the Sand Ridge Cemetery. Visiting is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
