Bettes K. Dye, 73 - Spencer

Bettes K. Dye, 73, of Spencer, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 in the Concord Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Wheelersburg, OH.

He was born March 23, 1940 at Newton, a son of the late Yale and Elizabeth Smith Dye. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Randy and Gregory Dye; one daughter, Sandra Dye; five brothers, Arnold, Robey, Harold, Coy and Doylee Dye; one sister, Dorma Simons.

Bettes was a member of Local 798, Tulsa, OK. He was a welder's helper. Also, he worked for Barnard Pipeline, Barberton, OH as well as other pipe line contractors.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Leona Smith Dye of Spencer; one son, Rickie Dye of Front Royal, VA; two granddaughters, Jennifer Truman and Patricia Sampson; one grandson, James Curtis Dye; two great grandsons, Damian Dye and Jace Johnson; three great granddaughters, Trinity Truman, Allie Johnson and Kiara Douglas; one sister, Catherine Cunningham; two brothers, Lowell Dye and James Dye.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 17 in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Jack Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer. Friends may call one hour before the service.
