PACF GRANTS ISSUED TO REGIONAL AGENCIES

Our Community's Foundation - The Parkersburg Area Community Foundation and the Regional Affiliate Foundations of Doddridge, Ritchie, Jackson, Mason Counties and the Little Kanawha Area announced its grant awards for spring 2013 during a meeting Monday at the foundation office in Parkersburg.

The funds went to help organizations within the foundation's 11-county service region of Wood, Wirt, Ritchie, Doddridge, Mason, Calhoun, Gilmer, Roane, Pleasants and Jackson counties in West Virginia, and Washington County in Ohio.

Parkersburg Area Community Foundation (PACF) awarded grants totaling $161,264 to 36 different organizations.

Grants awarded through the PACF Community Action Grant program are provided through various unrestricted, field of interest and donor advised funds at the foundation.

The PACF approved the following regional grants for spring 2013:

• Calhoun County Solid Waste Authority: $2,132 to assist in the construction of a concrete ramp to expand the recycling program.

• Minnie Hamilton Health System: $5,000 to purchase equipment and furnishings for the Long Term Care facility.

• Ritchie County 4-H Program: $1,250 to assist with the remodeling of the girls' cabins at the county 4-H camp.

• Roane General Hospital Fitness Complex: $4,658 to support the replacement of treadmills.
