SEVERE WEATHER COLLIDING ACROSS MOUNTAIN STATE

The NWS says some severe weather will be moving through the area through Thursday.

Meteorologists with the National Weather Service are expecting two separate systems, one on Wednesday and another on Thursday, to bring a risk of severe storms for all of West Virginia.

Wednesday's system will move in around around 5 a.m. with it the first wave of showers, with thunderstorms in the afternoon.

The NWS says the entire area could be affected by severe storms mainly with damaging winds and large hail.

There is a risk of tornadoes in some areas of the state both days.

The severe storm threat Wednesday is expected to begin around 2 p.m. as temperatures near 90 degrees.

The threat will continue till about midnight at which point the warm front providing the focus for the storms will lift north and out of the forecast area.

Things are expected to pick up again Thursday as another system moves through the Mountain State.

Widespread flooding is not expected out of these two systems.
