Forrest C. Foster of Arnoldsburg is being charged with multiple offenses relating to a late night accident on Euclid-Nicut Road on February 7. Foster fled the scene after his vehicle failed to negotiate a bridge, crashed through a guardrail and landed in the creek. It occurred near the old Nicut post office.

Trooper J. B. Hunt reported a female passenger in the 1988 Celebrity, Brenda Vannoy, was taken to Roane General Hospital for treatment. Hunt said Foster attempted to get Vannoy to say she was driving the auto before he fled the scene.

Trooper Hunt discovered Foster at the old Nicut Post Office property after which he failed a series of field sobriety tests. He was taken to the Spencer Detachment where his blood alcohol was recorded at .133. The Upper West Fork Volunteer Fire Department and Calhoun EMS responded to the call.
