GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Gilmer County on the Move, Walking Groups Challenge II members are challenging members as well as friends and neighbors to get a little exercise and help celebrate the American Hiking Society's National Trails Day at Cedar Creek State Park on Saturday, June 1, 2013. Jeff Campbell, Gilmer County's Economic Development Associates Health & Wellness Committee chair and project coordinator of Gilmer County on the Move said "We're proud to hold this event for the first time and invite anyone to join and be active - walk the park grounds, hike one or all seven trails at Cedar Creek State Park, bike, paddle boat, swim, play basketball, tennis, volleyball, softball, or go bird watching. You can bring your dog on a leash."

The day is two-fold. The first 100 Gilmer County on the Move Walking Group Challenge team participants who turn in their first six-week walking log will receive a 2013 GCOM t-shirt. Maps and trail guides as well as water and snacks will be available. Apple Shelter is the group's base for June 1 activities at Cedar Creek State Park.
