A man was arrested Monday on drug charges in Gilmer County after State Police said a trooper went to Ricky Townsend's house to investigate reports of drug activity.

The complaint says the trooper observed Townsend make a drug deal in front of his house.

After receiving permission to search the house, the trooper discovered three inactive meth labs and materials used to make meth.

Townsend is in the Central Regional Jail with bail set at $300,000.
