(03/21/2014)
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. - Catholic Charities West Virginia (CCWVa) will have a food distribution at the Amma Senior Center in Amma, Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon.

The WellnessWorks food pantry is part of the Mobile Outreach program and it will deliver a variety of canned, boxed and fresh food to the Amma area.

Families who live in Roane County and who meet the federal poverty qualifications for assistance may participate in the food distribution. CCWVa's WellnessWorks food pantry program promotes healthy nutrition through education, direct service and advocacy and is a new approach to addressing the health and nutritional needs of individuals seeking food assistance.

Families and Individuals must be at or below 150 percent of the Federal Poverty Level to receive assistance. Households receiving SNAP benefits from the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources are also eligible. Clients must bring proof of identification as well as proof of monthly income for the entire household.

A school delay or cancellation in the county served on the day of the food distribution will result in the mobile pantry being cancelled for the month.
