ROBERTS AND MCCUMBERS CHS VALEDICTORIAN-SALUTATORIAN

Miss Mercy Jean Roberts (L) Valedictorian Miss Jessica Ann McCumbers (R) Salutatorian Calhoun County High School has named Mercy Jean Roberts, Valedictorian and Jessica Ann McCumbers, Salutatorian for the Class of 2013 at Calhoun County High School. They will be recognized during the commencement ceremony Friday evening at 7 p.m. at Calhoun Middle-High School. Miss Roberts' activities and honors include being a member of the Red Devil Revue, Governor's School for the Arts 2011, Governor's Honors Academy 2012, Mu Alpha Theta, National Honors Society, and National Technical Honors Society. She is the daughter of Connie Roberts of Big Bend and Sam Roberts of Grantsville. Her community activities include Heartwood In The Hills (2003-2013), and clinicals at Minnie Hamilton (Spring of 2012 and 2013). Miss Roberts says, "I have been accepted into Roane Jackson Technical Center to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. After that I plan on working a couple of years then returning to school to become a Registered Nurse." Miss McCumbers' activities and honors include being a member of Health Sciences & Technology Academy, National Honor Society, Track And Field, Honor Roll, Achievement Roll. Her community activities include the WV 'Make It Shine' Project. Miss McCumbers says, "I plan to attend Roane Jackson Technical Center to become a LPN." She is the daughter of Kenneth McCumbers of Chloe and Anna Marie McCumbers of Arnoldsburg.
