There will be a very important meeting Tuesday, August 27 at 7 P. M. at the Creston Community Building. The old school house is used by many folks for reunions, parties, meetings, etc. as well as the auction and perhaps sings.

During the last year new electric service was installed and a handicapped toilet was installed but, with no auctions during the summer and few reunions, the building has run out of money and there is not a sufficient number of helpers to make things go.

Many like the auctions, others enjoyed the sings, others the poker runs, the young folks always like the parties and folks from all over come for the reunions. All who are interested in keeping and improving the community building are asked to come, bring ideas, elbow grease and ways to get things done. The Red Cross wants to use the facility as a shelter during disasters, such as floods. One does not have to live in or near Creston to help or participate, in fact one does not even have to have been from Creston or have relatives in the 26141 ZIP code area.

There will be a reorganization and a session to work out plans, etc. For details call Donna Sue at 275-3202.

He is looking forward to a great year and a new experience.

Paragon Geophysical Services of Wichita Kansas has been doing the seismic work for Dominion Resources on the West Fork. Last year a grader operator found unexploded explosives in a Roane County roadway that was left there by Paragon. It seems that Paragon, which has been working for the Rockefeller interests, has made sure to help the unemployment figures in Mexico. Apparently there are no men out of work in the local area for surely they would hire locally if men were available.

It was reported that Columbia Gas, now part of NISOURCE, has expanded their areas of interest for drilling including areas that they had earlier considered "worthless".
