West Virginia's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for April was 6.6 percent, the lowest in four years, according to Workforce WV.

Workforce says the number of unemployed state residents fell by 2,600 to 53,500.

The growth in the goods-producing sector came mostly in construction, mining and logging.
