OIL AND GAS HISTORIAN MCKAIN SPEAKS TODAY AT BURNING SPRINGS PARK

(05/11/2013)
David McKain, founder and curator of the WV Oil and Gas Museum in Parkersburg, will speak today at noon at the Burning Springs Rathbone Well, part of the West Virginia sesquicentennial celebration.

McKain will speak at noon at the park along the Little Kanawha River on Rt. 5, Burning Springs.

McKain often laments over how little recognition is given the beginnings of the oil and gas industry right here in the Little Kanawha River region.

He has been on a mission for many years to give the area's history its' due, including the publishing of a large book "Where It All Began."
