(05/09/2013)
Robert Allen Starcher, 29, who has had addresses in several regional counties, broke into a Roane County camper and stole firearms.

He pleaded guilty Wednesday in US Federal Court to being a felon in possession of firearms.

Starcher broke into a camper in Walton and took at least four rifles and two shotguns, one of many offenses for which he has been charged over a period of years. The criminal complaint says Starcher took the firearms along with other stolen goods and traded the items for an SUV.

Starcher was prohibited from possessing firearms because of multiple felony convictions in Ritchie, Calhoun, Braxton and Gilmer County.

Starcher now faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. He will be sentenced on August 15, 2013.
