Ralph E. "Ed" Linville, 64, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Friday, August 16, 2002, at his
home.
He was a retired miner who had worked for U.S. Steel Mining Company and Carbon Fuel
Company. He was a member of the UMWA and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Swannie Browning Linville of Spencer; sons, Randy Linville of
Charleston, Michael and Timmy Linville both of Peytona; stepsons, Robert Browning of
Cleveland, Ohio and Steve Browning of Spencer; daughters, Brenda Osbourne of Durham, NC,
Beverly Richmond of Princeton, Debbie Arvon of Martinsburg, Linda Linville of Ashford and
Denna Linville of Charleston; stepdaughter, Wilma Burdette of Sissonville; brothers, Larry
Linville of Park Ridge, IL, and Jack Linville of Melbourne, FL; sisters, Dottie Brown of
Melbourne, Kay Mazariegos and Judy Kistner both of Orlando, FL; eleven grandchildren,
thirteen step-grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thurmond and Vernie Cooper Linville; sister, Olivene
Buzzard and stepson, Terry Browning.
A funeral service will be conducted Monday, August 19 at 11 a.m. in the John H. Taylor
Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Reverend Leon Strickland officiating. Burial will be in the
Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
