PRAYERS LIFTED AT CALHOUN COURTHOUSE - National Day Of Prayer

Speakers Dave Trippett and Rev. Rick Metheney (L) and Rev. Gene Satterfield pray for America and communities Prayers were lifted at the Calhoun courthouse Thursday, part of the National Day of Prayer. The event was sponsored by the Minnie Hamilton Chaplains Association. National Day of Prayer calls on all people of different faiths in the United States to pray for the nation and its leaders. Fundraising for Food Pantry "With our nation in constant turmoil, serious financial distress, and in a state of moral decay, this day of prayer has never been needed more. Prayers will be lifted up for our Government, our military, natural and man-made disasters, our teachers, our clergy, and those in the police, fire fighting, EMS fields," organizers said. The money from food sales goes to the Calhoun Food Pantry, housed at the First Baptist Church.
