CHAPLAINS TO HOST NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER THURSDAY

(05/01/2013)
National Day of Prayer calls on all people of different faiths in the United States to pray for the nation and its leaders. It is held on the first Thursday of May each year. In Calhoun County this annual event, held on the courthouse steps, is hosted by the Minnie Hamilton Chaplains Association.

With our nation in constant turmoil, serious financial distress, and in a state of moral decay, this day of prayer has never been needed more. Prayers will be lifted up for our Government, our military, natural and man-made disasters, our teachers, our clergy, and those in the police, fire fighting, EMS fields.

As in years gone by the Chaplains Association will be selling hotdogs before and after the prayers. This lunch will be done by donation with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the Food Pantry housed at the First Baptist Church in Grantsville.

Cooking will begin around 9:00 a.m. and prayers given at 11:00 a.m. Denomination separation has no place here and everyone is invited. If at all possible, everyone should make an effort to be there to exalt the King, unify the church, and stress the importance of prayer in our lives.
