Calhoun Family Resource Network

Through the grants Help Me Grow and Change the Future W.V., we are pleased to be able to offer a family event called Saturday in the Park.

The event will be at the Calhoun County Park today beginning at 10:00 a.m. and will end at approximately 3:00 p.m. Displays, information and activities will be available for kids of all ages.

Free lunch will be provided for everyone who attends.

We will be having a GIVEAWAY: Xbox 360 Kinect package.

Bicycle Helmets will also be available on a first come first serve basis. There will be a bicycle decorating contest and bicycle rodeo as well. We ask that all children that would like to participate in these two events bring their own bicycle pre-decorated for the contest and then they can use them in the rodeo as well.

The kids will be able to fish at the ponds as long as they bring their own fishing pole and bait, as we can't provide both for every child.

Minnie Hamilton will be setting up their bounce house as well as demonstrating the drunk driving goggles.

The Sheriff's Department, City Police, EMS, and Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department will be there as well. The kids will be able to take a visual tour through the emergency vehicles.

Heritage Village will be open for tours as well as having hay rides thru the park.

The American Cancer Society will be there demonstrating SLIP, SLOP, SLAP, & WRAP. This is a demonstration for the kids to see the safety of sun protection.

Corn Hole will also be available for every one of all ages.

The Calhoun Family Resource Network will be adding a new addition to the park through the grants Help Me Grow and Change the Future W.V. The Born Learning Trail for toddlers to learn to identify shapes and ABC's will be at the basketball court behind the Herb Smith Community Building.

Displays and Information stations will be in the Herb Smith Community Building.
