ANOTHER FOREST FIRE ERUPTS ON YELLOW CREEK SATURDAY

(04/22/2013)
A forest fire erupted again near the same spot 60-70 acres burned Thursday afternoon and evening on Yellow Creek.

Grantsville firemen responded to the area on a hilltop deep in the woods near Buckeye Oil.

Firemen were on the scene for about two hours, bringing it under control.

Sources indicated they did not believe it was a rekindle from the earlier fire.

Firemen from Grantsville, Elizabeth-Wirt and Smithville VFDs responded to Thursday's fire and were on scene for about six hours.

The risk of forest fires remains very high in most parts of West Virginia.
