Madalene Shepard, 90 - Williamstown

Madalene Shepard, 90, of Williamstown passed away Wednesday April 17, 2013.

She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Clyde Johnson and Nora Mae Bailes.

She was a homemaker, and during World War II she worked at the Shovel Plant. At an early age she worked at Traveler's Restaurant.

She is survived by her son Randy Lee Shepard (Yvonne) of Parkersburg; her daughter Cathy Lynn Gessel (Robert) of Parkersburg; two grandchildren Christopher A. Shepard and Shannon Nicole Carver; four great grandchildren Zephriam Fox Shepard, Lacy Alexis Carver, Francis Kayanna Shepard and Sheridan Paige; her sister Sharon Lockhart (Joe) of Washington, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother and father she was preceded in death by her dad John I. Smith; husband Orel E. Shepard on Feb. 14 of this year; and her brother Paul V. Smith.

Funeral services will be Sunday 12:30 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Reverend L. Norman Butler officiating. Entombment will be in the Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
