Phillip John "PJ" Miller, 74 - Spencer

Phillip John "PJ" Miller, 74, of Spencer, West Virginia, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, West Virginia.

He was born April 15, 1938 in Spencer, a son of the late Milford and Pauline Miller. He formerly worked at Hardman's, was retired from Bartlett Concrete, and was a member of the Gandee Chapel Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Greathouse Miller; six sisters, Shirley Starcher, Mildred Ash, Madeline Fouty, Pauline Lawson, and Jennifer and Janice Miller; and two brothers, Milford Jr. and Jack Miller.

Phil is survived by a daughter, Opal (Kevin) Myers of Spencer; three sons, John (Debbie) Miller of Ripley, West Virginia, Jim (Donita) Miller of Elkview, West Virginia, and David Miller of Spencer; four sisters, Myrtle Sue McKown of Spencer, Phyllis Milhoan of Reedy, West Virginia, Melinda Jones of Cross Lanes, West Virginia, and Debrah Marks of Millstone, West Virginia; a half-sister, Ruth Starcher of Calhoun County; five brothers, Bob, Bill, Larry, and Tom Miller , all of Spencer, and Curtis Miller of Reedy; five grandsons, Joseph Miller of Ripley, Joshua Miller of Alliance, Ohio, Don Phillip Miller of Spencer, Kevin Myers, Jr. of Washington, D.C., and Kyle Myers of Spencer; two granddaughters, Anita Hensley of Parkersburg, West Virginia and Toni McGinnis of Looneyville, West Virginia; four great grandsons; and four great granddaughters.

Service will be at 1:00 pm on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, with Rev. John Means and Rev. Donald Cottrill officiating. Burial will follow in the Craig Hill Cemetery. Visiting hours are Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
